Message from CoD, Psychology and Early Childhood Education

The Department of Social Work and Criminology at Kibabii University (KIBU) offers the following programmes to undergraduate, Diploma and Certificate students: Bachelor of Criminology, Diploma in Criminology, Certificate in Criminology and Bachelor of Social Work, Diploma in Social Work and Certificate in Social Work.

On the other hand, the department of Psychology offers Courses that are taught to all Education, Criminology and social work students. These are; General Educational Psychology, Introduction to Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Growth and Development, Educational Measurement and Evaluation, Guidance and counseling. It also offers Guidance and Counseling courses as elective for those who to specialize in it. However, it is worth noting that the department is in the process of developing some additional courses to cater for the ever expanding needs. The market-oriented programmes include:

Diploma in Guidance and Counseling; Bachelor of Arts Psychology, Bachelor of Counseling Psychology. Bachelor of Criminology and Bachelor of Community Development. MED Psychology, MA in Criminology. MED Guidance and Counseling, MA counseling Psychology and PhD Educational Psychology

Dr. Wanjala Florence Mulongo is the Chairman of the Department of Psychology, Social Work and Criminology. She is currently at the Advanced stage of PhD in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance (2010-2014) at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. She is Holds a Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling. She did BED (ARTS) IN 1994.
